The students at La Makerspace are building their own Making journals this week.
To differentiate the grades, each class makes their own type of book. Younger grades will make accordion books out of a single sheet of long paper.
These books will provide a way for children to tell their own stories in the way they want to tell them.
We've spent the time since Winter Break cutting cardboard to act as book covers. Older grades will use the cardboard we cut for them, as well as cardstock and recycled paper, to make notepads.
Students will use these books throughout the year to document their Making experiences and the lessons they learn. And next week, they will use their time in La Makerspace to personalize their books and make them their own!
